Trail Conditions

12/24/25

All Trails are currenlty open. See comments about trails below. Expect early season conditions- water, mud, rocks, sticks, trees down around every corner.

We had extensive damage due to wind and ice before Thanksgiving. Please ride with care and know that some piles of snow contain a large amount of brush and or trees.

Expect to have low hanging brush, tree limbs, etc until more grooming passes are made.

The Portage Lake Lift Bridge is OPEN!

136- High Rock- expect large water holes up to 2 feet in depth the last 1.5 miles to the point. We will not be able to fill and freeze them until the point receives more snow. Ride this trail at your own risk.

133- completetly open, there is extensive brush and wet areas- ride with caution.

Temporary Trail Closures

Updated 12/24/25

No Temporary Trail Closures as of now.

Reminders:

Trail conditions may change at any time.

Grooming may stop due to equipment breakdowns, temperatures, or low or extreme snow conditions.

Please ride with caution at all times, expect the unexpected. Not all obstacles may be marked due to rapidly changing conditions- i.e. water holes, snow drifts, road clearing activities, etc.

The signs on the trails are there for rider’s safety, so please DO NOT remove or destroy them- this includes adding stickers too! Adding stickers costs the program dollars and all clubs volunteers time to replace them annually.

Active Logging may be present on trails or roads not maintained by Keweenaw Snowmobile Club.

Please Keep Out of Active Logging and obey all signs.

LOG TRUCKS AND LOGGING EQUIPMENT HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY AT ALL TIMES

DO NOT GO AROUND OR UNDER THE EQUIPMENT. Wait for the operator to wave you on.

Failure to respect logging activities will result in loss of trails.

Please stay on the trails, STAY OFF THE ICE, respect private property at all times.
